We are seeking a proactive, highly organised, and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team, full-time, at Tenterden Garden Centre. This role is based in Tenterden, with the requirement to divide time between Tenterden and Hamstreet Garden Centres, providing support to both locations while overseeing warehouse stock management.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the EPoS Manager, you will ensure efficient stock control processes, including:
- Monitoring stock availability and movement.
- Identifying and reporting stock discrepancies and wastage.
- Assisting with audits and company-wide stocktakes.
- Maintaining accurate records, processing credits, and managing sales orders.
- Supporting goods in/out and assisting store colleagues.
- Implementing corrective actions where standards fall short.
- Ensuring effective communication across departments.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in stock control or inventory management (preferred).
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in stock systems and EPoS software (desirable).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

As the Shop Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring that the retail operation runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with the Centre Manager and Assistant Manager, supporting them in all aspects of the store’s performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervising and supporting department supervisors
• Stock management, including ordering, rotation, and merchandising, to maintain availability and minimise waste
• Ensuring excellent store standards, including cleanliness, organisation, and presentation.
• Delivering high levels of customer service
• Supporting sales growth by ensuring products are well-displayed, competitively priced, and promotions are executed effectively
• Monitoring and maintaining health and safety standards across the store.
Skills & Experience:
• Retail management experience, preferably in a garden centre or similar retail environment.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• A hands-on approach, with a willingness to support staff on the shop floor.
